This course explores mathematical vignettes motivated by the biophysics of cell shape, cell motility, cell signaling, and pattern formation in cells. We consider how cells interact with each other, and how they coordinate to form tissues. The two primary goals are: (1) learn to use the tools and techniques to formulate models of biological systems, and (2) learn to use mathematical analysis techniques to provide insights into the underlying biological mechanisms.
