Subjects covered include geologic time, principles of stratigraphy and correlation, evolution and the fossil record, a review of plate tectonics, eustasy and isotasy, and the geologic evolution of the Earth with emphasis on the geologic history of North America. Prerequisite: introductory geology course, preferably GEOLOGY 101, or one semester of biology.

Open to junior and senior Earth Systems and Geology students. Introductory Geology or 1 BIO Open to Geology and Earth Systems majors, by instructor consent. Other majors should enroll in GEOL 394LI.

Multiple required components--lab and/or discussion section. To register, submit requests for all components simultaneously.
Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
