From policy "nudges" to persuasive campaign ads to get out the vote efforts, experiments are increasingly being used to shape many aspects of political and social life. In the course, you will get a chance to participate in, read about, and discuss a wide range of experiments related to politics, policy and political behavior. In addition, the course will introduce students to the basic statistical tools used to analyze experimental research: measures of central tendency and variability along with basic tests for correlation and statistical independence, including the comparison of group means. (Gen. Ed. SB, DU)

R1 completion recommended, but not required.

This course is being offered as part of the UMass Flex Initiative. That means students have the opportunity to attend class in person or online. For questions about modality please contact the instructor for more information
