Faculty First Year Seminars 191PHY4 - Kicking the Fossil-Fuel Habit

We will explore the energy transition at the home and local level, including both policy and technical advances that help us all move away from fossil fuels and towards clean, electric energy. To meet state and national climate goals, every home in the country must transition to clean electric heat and appliances over the next couple of decades. This seminar will start off discussing the policies and grassroots efforts that can make this seemingly overwhelming task happen, talk about the technologies involved, and end with a practical discussion of what you can do to help others in this transition.
