Description: What is 3D printing? Who is 3D printing? Why do we 3D print? If you have ever thought about 3D printing, or even if you haven't, this course could be for you! Make your own 3D models and print them out here at UMass. From printing metal to printing space dust to printing food, we will explore it all! In this course we aim to understand the technology, how it's being used and how you can use it. From replacement parts to art, there are many ways to utilize 3D printing. Can you use 3D printing in your everyday life? It's more likely than you think. Like other First Year Seminars, we will also cover skills to help you succeed in your first semester at UMass Amherst.
