First-year (R1ST) Title: Botanical secrets for success: How to flourish like a plant
Description: What do people have in common with plants? Since their evolution over 500 million years ago, plants have learned a thing or two about how to survive in a rapidly changing world. In this class, we will explore various biological mechanisms that plants use for growth and development and reflect on how we might apply similar principles to our own lives. The aim of this class is not just to leave you with an appreciation for the vast floral diversity of our world, but to provide you with awareness of resources beneficial to your first year in college that will also help you to be successful at UMass. So branch out and take this course. You won't be-leaf your eyes!
