This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in engineering. The course will be an exploration of an exciting engineering-related topic of societal impact. This seminar will also introduce basic skills and available resources skills for life as a college student.
First-year (R1ST) Topic: Climate & Water: How they work, How we impact them, How we can help.
Students will learn 1) Fundamentals of the earth's climate and water system and how they are interconnected 2) How human activities impact these natural cycles, both positively & negatively 3) How as engineers we can make a difference in these areas, exploring sustainable design, mitigation strategies, and career options.
