This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in engineering. The course will be an exploration of an exciting engineering-related topic of societal impact. This seminar will also introduce basic skills and available resources skills for life as a college student.
First-year (R1ST) Topic: Optimization in Engineering Systems
Optimization is the process of finding the best solution for a specified problem. In this class, you will be taught the basic components of optimization programs, the different applications of optimization problems, and strategies for solving these types of problems. Part of the course will include tutorials in how to implement simple optimization problems in Excel using Solver.
