This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in engineering. The course will be an exploration of an exciting engineering-related topic of societal impact. This seminar will also introduce basic skills and available resources skills for life as a college student.

First-year (R1ST) Topic: Entrepreneurship and Engineering: Creating and Launching Solutions to Real Life Problems
In this course you will learn how to take an idea and bring it to market. We will follow an agile product development framework, learn about identifying customer pain points and how to pitch your solution. If you have an idea and a passion to commercialize that idea, this course is for you. We will will outline the steps involved in moving an idea from "back of the napkin" to investor ready. We will explore the steps involved in the technology transfer process and identify available funding. We will work on business projections, customer discovery, pitch decks, obtaining funding and identify resources to take your idea to the next level.
