This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in engineering. The course will be an exploration of an exciting engineering-related topic of societal impact. This seminar will also introduce basic skills and available resources skills for life as a college student.
First-year (R1ST) Topic: Engineering design & problem solving
In this course, students will engage in hands-on projects that involve identifying problems, developing innovative solutions, and iterating designs based on feedback and testing. Key topics include problem definition, brainstorming, and design optimization. Throughout the course, students will work both individually and in teams, thereby enhancing their collaboration and communication skills. Additionally, students will explore the ethical and societal impacts of engineering solutions, fostering a holistic understanding of the engineering profession.
