E&C ENG 499T is Part 2 of the senior honors thesis in ECE, preceded in the fall by Part 1 (E&C ENG 499Y). Individual student research is directly contracted with the faculty chairs who supervise the work. In addition, all 499T and 499P students participate in a common thesis/project seminar that supports development of the 499T thesis research and document. Honors Thesis expectations are high. The intended end-product is a traditional research manuscript with accompanying artifact(s), all theses: - are 6 credits or more of sustained research on a single topic, typically conducted over two semesters. - begin with creative inquiry and systematic research. - include documentation of substantive scholarly endeavor. - culminate in an oral defense or other form of public presentation.
