First-year (R1ST) Title: What Makes Us Who We Are? Identity Formation and Development
Growing up and changing over time is something that we all experience. So, what makes us who we are? How do friends and family impact our lives? How do early experiences inform who we are today? Together, we will explore the parts of identity as they formed early in childhood, how they've changed over time, and how they may impact your life experiences moving forward. We will discuss various parts of identity such as gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture, neurodiversity, and socioeconomic status to name a few. We also will cover skills that will help set you up for success for the rest of your undergraduate career.
