First Year Seminars that are part of the Residential Academic Program (RAP), are seminars where students will explore the subject of the associated RAP. Students participate in small group projects and class discussions. Provides a supportive environment for personal reflection and critical thinking on the topics germane to the course content. This course is only open to students registered for the Engineering First Year Seminar RAP in Hamlin Hall. First-year (R1ST) Topic: Bio-Inspired Engineering for Sustainability, Health, and Human Mobility
This course offers an introduction to the world of bio-inspired engineering, with a focus on the intersection of sustainability, human health, and mobility. Designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds, the course explores how biomaterials and biosensors can be applied to address current challenges in medicine, environmental science, and sustainable design. A combination of case studies, hands-on activities, and real-world examples will be used to provide students with a practical and interdisciplinary understanding of how biologically driven innovations can shape the future of engineering.
