This seminar will support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in engineering. The course will be an exploration of an exciting engineering-related topic of societal impact. This seminar will also introduce basic skills and available resources skills for life as a college student.

First-year (R1ST) Course Title: Engineering approaches to combatting PFAS and microplastics
In this course students will (1) learn about potential sources of PFAS and microplastics; (2) know their health and environmental impacts; and (3) gather knowledge on cutting-edge research done in combating PFAS and microplastics contamination, with a focus on the critical role engineers can play in developing more effective, feasible and sustainable technologies
