First-year (R1ST) Course Title: Foundations of Secure System Engineering
This course offers a comprehensive exploration into the intersection of computing and cybersecurity through the lenses of logic and inquiry. The course is designed for people with no prior experience of computing and programming. Together, we will explore the logical elements of computer programming and will learn to engineer systems using the basic building blocks. The students will get an introduction to research in engineering with a focus on cybersecurity using real-world examples. By the end of this course, students will emerge with a solid understanding of logical thinking for programming, research methodologies, and cybersecurity fundamentals, laying a robust foundation for their journey into the realm of computing, engineering, and beyond.
