Welcome! This course is designed to help first year students develop skills and habits for college success. It is also an introduction to anthropology, which is the study of humans. We will look in depth at biological anthropology- the study of human evolution, human biology, and primates. In this course you will learn about campus resources, share your experiences adjusting to independent college life, and explore key questions in biological anthropology, such as: What makes us human? What are the origins of humanity? Who are our closest living relatives? We will address these topics and questions through discussions and hands-on activities, such as hominin cast comparisons and arts-based exploration.
