The objective of this class is to gain a deeper understanding of several issues related to teaching and learning, including how students learn, different methods of instruction and mentoring, and the challenges in making and grading assignments. This course satisfies the MIE Elective for Mechanical Engineering majors.

This class comprises two main parts. The majority of your time will be spent as an undergraduate teaching assistant in a course. See the first activity below for suggestions on what you should discuss with the professor of your course. The second component involves periodic meetings in class, which will consist of a discussion and some additional assignments and activities.

If you are approved as a UTA by a faculty member, you will be added to this course a few weeks after registration begins. You will receive enrollment confirmation from Kevin Romani that includes instructions on obtaining required FERPA Certification.

Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
