This course is designed as a pedagogy and repertoire seminar for graduate wind conducting majors but may be taken by other graduate students or advanced undergraduates with instructor permission. It is part three of a four-semester sequence. This course is dedicated to developing: 1) an advanced knowledge and contextualization of core, traditional, and obscure large wind ensemble and chamber wind ensemble repertoire from roughly 1950-1990, 2) methods for
programming at the middle school, high school, and/or collegiate levels, 3) a cogent philosophy of music education, 4) tools to define and choose "quality listerature," 5) advanced conducting/score study methodologies and techniques.
