Theater 725 - Special Topics/Dramaturgy

This graduate seminar in dramaturgy each semester goes in depth into a special topic. Topics to include: Multicultural Theater Practice, Performance Theory, Avant-Garde Theater, Production Dramaturgy, Translation, Adaptation, and Dramaturgical Writing. Open to Graduate students only. SPECIAL TOPIC: Theatrical Space

This seminar combines theory and practice to look at all different types of theatrical space, from proscenium theater to site specific, immersive theater and everything in between. The curriculum features a series of hands-on projects that experiment with space and place. One project will focus on YouCube, a special outdoor performance installation.
