Sustainability reporting complements traditional financial reporting by engaging a broader range of business stakeholders in collaboration for mutual benefit. The primary goal of this course is to introduce students to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and the key players in its ecosystem. We will explore reporting standards, technical protocols, and, importantly, the unique challenges faced by companies involved in sustainability reporting. By the end of the course, students will have a solid understanding of the key sustainability issues impacting our planet and society, the strengths and weaknesses of current reporting practices, and how various stakeholders utilize sustainability reports to inform their decisions.
