A working knowledge of the principles and methods of computer simulation for the analysis and design of complex systems. Emphasis on the development of the basic methods required for next-event simulations. Techniques required for validating and verifying computer simulations.

Open to Industrial Engineering majors only. Pre Req: M&I-ENG 273 This is a core course for Industrial Engineers. MIE 373 will be available to non-IEs three weeks after enrollment begins. Mechanical Engineers interested in taking this course as an ME technical elective should email Kevin Romani (kromani@umass.edu) requesting permission to be enrolled in the course. The email should include your SPIRE ID number. You may message Kevin beginning November 12th, and he will enroll students who have made the request beginning December 3rd and will do so until the course is full. Students are enrolled in order of when the message is received, so if you are interested in this class, you should email Kevin on November 12th. Please make sure you are not already enrolled in a course that conflicts with this meeting time or that this course would put you above the maximum number of credits per semester (19).
