Silvicultural practices used to manage forests for timber production, wildlife habitat, and watershed protection. Special focus on southern New England, but techniques apply to forests throughout the world. Lab: developing silvicultural plans for project areas. Prerequisites: one course in ecology, and one course in plant identification.
This course is open to Graduate Students in the Environmental Conservation, Forestry, and Wildlife & Fisheries Conservation programs and to Undergraduate Students in the NRC, Forestry, and Wildlife & Fisheries Conservation programs. NRC 225, 297F, and 534 Students will meet outside Holdsworth for the field trips and additional Information will be provided by the instructor
