This course delves into recent advances and ongoing scientific controversies within nutritional sciences. Each week, we will explore a debatable theme tied to controversial dietary choices or medical treatments for managing or treating metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, and other inflammatory conditions. The course content will be designed with flexibility, allowing for the integration of contemporary issues as they arise. This approach will ensure that students are equipped with the most up-to-date scientific knowledge while fostering their critical thinking skills.
