This is a class about campaigns, elections, and the data that fuel them. In this course, we will combine an exploration of the political science literature on elections and campaigns in the United States, with an introduction to data analysis. By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of how political campaigns work and how they can (and cannot) influence voting behavior. You will also acquire data analysis and visualization skills that can be used throughout your academic career, and beyond. Throughout this course, you will learn to analyze data using the statistical programming language R. This course does not require you to have any prior knowledge of R or data analysis.
