Spanish 691P - S- Intro to Pragmatics

In this class we will explore the main topics in the current literature in pragmatics within linguistics. The goal in this class is that students explore the complexities involved in the construction of meaning. The field of formal pragmatics is concerned with the investigation of the meanings of utterances that cannot be compositionally derived from the conventional meanings of their parts.
