This course will cover the analysis of data in which the same measurement has been taken for the same unit multiple times. We will focus on two main methods: mixed effects models and generalized estimating equations (GEE). We will develop the theory behind each method, practice applying it to real and simulated data, and discuss how to interpret the results. All data analysis will be conducted in R, so students should have some familiarity with this language before enrolling in this course. The methods we cover are also applicable to other forms of nested data, for example, students within classrooms.
