This course provides a statistical introduction to shape analysis. Shape analysis is an overarching term for the study of comparison of ?objects? rather than the typical comparison of scalars or vectors. Shape has a very intuitive definition, but to mathematically define shape requires some rigor which are contingent on user-made choices. Once we have a foundation on how to compare objects we will focus on statistical questions of these objects. We will focus on how to define probability distributions on the space of shapes and how to perform statistical tests on samples of shapes. The main spaces we will consider are Kendall?s shape space and elastic shape analysis. Time permitting we will dive into how one could implement differentially private techniques in these spaces.
