Biochemistry & Molecular Bio. 685 - Microbe-Host Interact Journal

The goal of this journal club is to provide participants with the opportunity to critically analyze recent, peer-reviewed and pre-print research papers from the molecular life sciences, in discussion with their peers. Students will also take turns presenting a summary of relevant background information and leading the discussion of a paper that aligns with their research interests. Discussions will typically focus on one primary research article per week and encompass an in-depth analysis of results, conclusions, techniques, and the quality of the writing, including the effectiveness of figures. Through this journal club, we will discuss/compare interactions between microbes (mainly fungi) and both plant and animal hosts.
