Students will develop advanced writing skills specific to the field of Comparative Literature but with broad application; these include close reading, comparison, research in literary and/or film studies, and the integration of literary and/or film theory into analytical and argumentative writing. The major written work of the course is a conference paper involving literary/film analysis, developed over a series of drafts with instructor and peer feedback, and presented at the Program?s Junior Writing Conference at the end of the semester. Shorter assignments may include writing for academic as well as general audiences. This course fulfills the Junior Year Writing requirement for majors in Comparative Literature.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
