First-year (R1ST) Topic - Write Where You Are
Course Description - Welcome to Amherst, a place steeped in rich literary tradition! In this class, we will consider what it means to be writing, living, and learning in Amherst today. We will explore the many forms of writing we do in our daily lives ? academic, creative, personal, professional ? and reflect on the role writing may play in accomplishing our future goals. To do this, you will approach your writing process metacognitively by ?writing about writing? in order to learn more about your strengths and habits. You will also learn about authors with connections to the Amherst area and consider how their approaches to craft could impact your own relationship to writing.
