This course presents a detailed look at the birth of Humanism, beginning with Petrarca, Boccaccio, Salutati, Valla, Poliziano and Alberti. We then follow selected humanistic themes into the High Renaissance, giving special attention to Ficino, Pico, Pulci, Michelangelo and the courtly scrittori and scrittrici. This is an undergraduate-graduate combination course, taught in Italian for all but separate requirements for each level.
Permission is required for interchange registration during the add/drop period only.
