Music 592G - S-German Poem/Lied

This course provides a survey of German Lied. Using Schubert as a focal point, the course will investigate the composers in the genre who preceded him and those whose lives overlapped with his. As time allows, the course will continue the survey by looking at the development of the Lied after Schubert.

This course is open to BMUS-MUSIC, BA-MUSIC & Graduate Music Majors only.
