Generative AI is rapidly transforming learning, research, and analysis. But generative AI also raises serious ethical questions about "original" analysis and plagiarism, as well as concerns about racial, gender, and cultural bias, inequality of access, economic impacts, and environmental effects. Moreover, naive use of generative AI can produce misleading or simply incorrect results. This course will introduce you to the use of generative AI, emphasizing practical skills for research, writing, and data analysis, as well as critical awareness and attention to ethical concerns. This course will help you understand how to apply generative AI to advance your learning and solve problems, while maintaining a critical lens and high standards for transparency and documentation.
