Open to seniors majoring in Psychology or Neuroscience. BIO151/2 & PSYCH 330/5,BIO 330 This course will focus on the brain pathways, neurotransmitters, and hormones determining how organisms respond to stress. To eliminate the cost of materials for students taking this course, we will instead read scientific research and review articles. Our primary focus will be on preclinical studies in animals. This class will consist of lectures, class discussions, presentations, and group work. Prior to enrolling in this class, students should have a solid background in neurobiology and/or behavioral neuroscience. This class entails a lot of reading and group work. On-time attendance and participation are essential components of success in the course.
When taken in combination with Psych 494PI, this course can count towards the Integrative Experience (IE) requirement for Primary Psychology majors. This course and 494PI do not need to be taken in the same semester
