This course is designed for graduate students interested in current econometric methods used in empirical economic research. The primary goal of this course is to provide an overview of various empirical methods, with a particular focus on recent advances. We will learn the econometric methods alongside recent academic work implementing the methods. The course covers topics in advanced causal inference, selected topics in structural estimation, and some applications of natural language processing (NLP). While we will discuss econometrics, the focus of the course will be on intuition and implementation.
