This course addresses ways to improve construction supply and construction site logistics. Understanding a customer?s needs, the supply chain, and how materials move through transportation networks illustrate principal components of construction logistics, especially if sustainability goals must be met. Approaches such as implementing and utilizing a consolidation center can improve material storage and handling, improve safety, address replacement costs, and reduce the need for rework. Construction logistics can also utilize special equipment that can be connected via the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). Construction logistics equipment and its ability to connect to the IIOT will also be explored in this class.
