This course explores the integration of mathematical modeling, data analysis, and statistical inference within the context of environmental engineering. Students will learn to develop and apply models to understand and predict environmental systems, analyze environmental data using advanced statistical techniques, and draw robust inferences to support engineering decisions. Topics include probabilistic modeling, data assimilation, uncertainty quantification, and the application of machine learning methods to environmental datasets. The course emphasizes practical applications through case studies, preparing students to tackle real-world environmental challenges using quantitative tools and methodologies.
