This course introduces students to the engineered system design and development process. Students will learn the importance of requirements management, use cases, prototypes and test-beds, process milestones, project reviews and requirement verification. Students will work in teams to develop a semester-long sense & response system involving both hardware and software. Subsystem technologies will include embedded microcontrollers, sensors, displays, actuators, user interfaces, and the embedded code that manages these resources to accomplish a mission.

Open to junior Electrical Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering students. E&C-ENG 231
