This course fulfills the University's Junior Year Writing Requirement for students in the College of Engineering. Students will be introduced to traditional technical and scientific writing forms, including outlines, summaries, mechanical and technical descriptions, extended technical definitions, research reports, and proposals. Grammar review, oral presentations and on-line research are significant components of this course. Students will also investigate ethics in engineering practice and research. Half of the assignments in the honors section are geared toward preparation for the senior honors thesis.
Open to junior Commonwealth Honors College students in the following majors: M&I-ENG, CE-ENGIN, E&C-ENG, BMED-ENG, and CHEM-ENG. Pre Req: ENGLWRIT 112 or CW Anyone having difficulty registering for this course should email Jodi Ozdarski (ozdarski@umass.edu).
