Filipino IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Filipino, the national language of the Philippines developed from Tagalog and other regional languages. The course is offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Filipino develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Philippines and engagement with Filipino-speaking communities, and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.
Students must apply to add this course. Contact the Five College Center for World Languages for details: fivecolleges.edu/languages.
Prerequisite: Filipino I - III or equivalent.
