Operations & Info Management 452 - Business Proc&Enterprise Syst

This course exposes students to how core business concepts are implemented in real-world organizational settings. Key business processes covered include procurement (materials management), fulfillment (sales), and production (manufacturing). The class meets in a computer lab and enables hands-on experience, with instructor guidance, to the ERP solution from SAP, the world's largest business software company. Using the system's core modules and data warehouse, students will gain insight into online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP). A detailed case study with supporting data and structured in-class exercises will prepare students for the SAP graded assignments. Students may download the SAP web-based client to their personal computers.

Open to Isenberg School of Management majors only. If the class is open, Isenberg majors can contact the Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office at undergrad@isenberg.umass.edu if you meet the enrollment requisites and are unable to self-enroll or unable to add yourself to the Spire waitlist (if open as indicated by a yellow triangle).

If you add yourself to the Spire waitlist, please ensure you do not enroll in a course that conflicts with this course or enroll in a maximum number of credits.

Once the course and the Spire waitlist is full, OIM majors and Isenberg majors should monitor the course via SPIRE for seat availability. The Spire waitlist will stop promoting students about one week prior to the beginning of the semester. Once the Spire waitlist is no longer functional, students should monitor the class and self-enroll if a seat becomes available.
