Honors Thesis expectations are high. The intended end-product is a traditional research manuscript with accompanying artifact(s), all theses: - are 6 credits or more of sustained research on a single topic, typically conducted over two semesters. - begin with creative inquiry and systematic research. - include documentation of substantive scholarly endeavor. - culminate in an oral defense or other form of public presentation.

Contact COMCOL (CHC Paths) Students registering for any part of the Honors Thesis (PUBHLTH 499Y, 499T, or 499P) must submit their the proposal through CHC PATHS https://honorspaths.honors.umass.edu/chc-paths for online approval by their sponsor, committee, Public Health Honors Program Director, and the CHC Academic Standards Committee. Once fully approved it will be registered on SPIRE by Commonwealth Honors College staff. Please consult the CHC PATHS homepage for proposal submission deadlines.

Varies from 3 to 6 credits

Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
