Warigeiko: Divided Practice
During a chaji, a full tea gathering, the host arranges a small meal, performs a charcoal ceremony to build fire in the hearth, and serves both thick and thin tea to the guests. The tea procedure is called temae. Each temae is composed of individual movements such as bowing, folding the silk cloth, purifying the thin tea container, etc. These individual movements are called warigeiko, or divided practice.
