Synchronic investigation of the grammatical system of classical Latin. Special emphasis on the presentation of phonology, morphology and syntax in the Latin classroom.
Selections from Latin lyric and elegiac poetry, including Catullus, Horace, Tibullus, Propertius, and/or Ovid, with analysis of the structure, style, and cultural context of their works. Prerequisite: 300-level course in Latin or equivalent with a grade of C or higher.
