S-I Levantine Arabic I

Levantine Arabic I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Levantine Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Levantine Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Levantine Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria or the West Bank and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

ST-Turkish V

Turkish V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Turkish. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.

Persian II

Persian II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Persian. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). Wolof IV is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Wolof. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Wolof develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in West Africa, especially Senegal, and to support course work in African Studies.
