Ideas That Change the World

In this seminar, students will examine texts and works of art that have profoundly shaped the world we live in. The course is divided into four units: Models of Inquiry; the Impact of Science and Technology; Social Philosophy and Civic Engagement; and Art in the World. The course is supplemented with several plenary lectures by distinguished honors faculty speakers.

GW-Preparing for Study Abroad

This one-credit gateway course is designed for honors students who are thinking about study abroad. Its purpose is to help them answer questions such as the following: Where should I go to study abroad? When is the best time to go? Should I go abroad for one semester or for a full academic year? On what kind of program should I go? The course will enable students to clarify their study abroad goals and to choose the best program to meet these goals.

Practicum
