Social Justice in Practice

This discussion-based community-engaged course provides theoretical content and professional training on the impact of cultural differences - due to the intersectionality of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, class, nationality, religion, occupation, and other factors - on access to legal services and resources, public policy protection, and, by extension, social justice.

Managing for the Public Good

This course equips students with both the theoretical foundation and practical skills required for a successful career in public service. Emphasizing equity in the delivery of public services, this course helps students develop the competencies necessary to face contemporary management challenges.

U.S. Foreign Pol/Latin America

U.S. foreign policy towards Latin America, national and coordinated policies of Latin American states towards the United States, and - to a lesser degree - relationships among Latin American countries. Historical developments in U.S.-Latin American relations, key policy areas, the main institutions and groups included in policy making, the policy options available, and likely reasons for - and interests served by - particular policy choices.

Public Administration

The course develops the practical knowledge and analytical skill required to make sense of field problems faced by public managers, and to design and implement strategic and effective practical action in the public sector. Satisfies the Integrative Experience requirement for BA-PolSci majors.
