The course is designed to help students identify concepts, skills, dispositions, and emancipatory inquires as they create and respond to works of art, design, and culture, thereby applying these insights to the development of art curricula, creative practice, and research. The course will prepare students to be reflective practitioners and artists who can integrate visual art, social justice, and emancipatory inquiries into their teaching and plan to teach in multiple settings, including PreK to 12 schools and community centers, museums, and alternative learning environments.
