ST- Fashion Studies

This 1-credit seminar is designed for students interested in interdisciplinary aspects of Fashion Studies. The seminar will explore the priorities and core competencies required to succeed in the competitive and rapidly-evolving fashion industry. The focus will be on essential readings, industry insight, and speakers from the field to meet the diverse interests of any student interested in fashion studies.

ST-Entrepreneur, Innov, Design

This seminar is designed as an interdisciplinary course for students interested in entrepreneurship, innovation and design. The focus will be on essential readings, industry insight, speakers from the field to meet the diverse interest of any student interested in fashion studies. Topics will include: understanding sustainable business models, creativity, entrepreneurial team building, design thinking, among others.

Hnrs Indstu In Bdic

This is a stand-alone independent study designed by the student and faculty sponsor that involves frequent interaction between instructor and student. Qualitative and quantitative enrichment must be evident on the proposed contract before consent is given to undertake the study.

Integration and Innovation

This course is designed to help students contemplate the skills and knowledge they have acquired through general education courses and through the process of designing and completing an individualized degree program in the context of a world that is dramatically changing. Students will reflect upon the skills and knowledge they have acquired through their UMass education. In addition to intensive reflective, integrative work, a significant part of this course will be the application of that knowledge to real-world issues.
