S-Methods in Linguistic Anthro
This course provides and introduction to linguistic anthropological research methods. Over the course of the semester, we will read about different methods used in the field and familiarize ourselves with examples of how such methods have been used in ethnographic research on language, culture, and communication. Most importantly, however, students will have the opportunity to practice utilizing a range of methodological approaches in a collective research project on The Everyday Politics of Language Use at UMass Amherst.
P-Archaeological Lab Internshp
The objective of this internship is to give the student exposure to and training in a wide range of tasks and skills involved in the operation of an archaeological research laboratory and curation facility. Intern will undertake a variety of tasks related to the analysis, processing, and curation of artifacts.
Introduction to Animal Science
With lab. Modern animal agriculture and the many scientific disciplines it encompasses. The roles of genetics, nutrition, economics, physiology, and pathology in animal research and production. The dairy, meat, recreational, and laboratory animal industries in their role serving humankind. Lab experience working with various animal species.
